Queen Letizia went this Thursday, April 13, to the Spanish town of Cordoba in a beautiful multicolored dress to announce the winner of the 2023 Princess of Girona Foundation Award in the category of arts and letters, and at the event, she experienced a curious moment.

The mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia approached the group of people who were in the vicinity of the Gran Teatro of the city to greet them. However, that approach has not gone as expected because one of those present told her some words that she will surely not forget.

Dozens of people from Cordoba waited for the queen consort and it was one in particular who managed to surprise her. Dressed in an elegant floral print dress, the queen approached to greet an elderly lady who without much hesitation said to her:

“I love you, your husband, and your daughters very much”. This message of love has accompanied it with a “the rest to take for an ass” which can be interpreted as (and the rest of them can go to sh*t!), leaving Letizia surprised, who only showed an expression of surprise while smiling.

The phrase ‘a tomar por culo’ (to take for an ass) is a colloquial expression used in Spain. Its meaning can vary depending on the context in which it is used, but it is generally used as an expression of anger, frustration, surprise, or contempt towards something or someone.

The woman continued expressing her love for the four members of the royal family: “All four of you! You are excellent and great”. And also: “I love you very much and so does all of Spain”.

The moment was recorded and widely spread on social media.
