Infanta Sofia, 16, lived an unforgettable day this May 25 when she received the sacrament of confirmation in the church of Nuestra Señora de Aravaca, the same church where the heiress to the throne also received this same sacrament two years ago and where both sisters made their first communion.

Sofia celebrated this important ceremony in the company of her classmates. Although the day was marked by an intimate and familiar atmosphere, the guests at the religious ceremony were limited.

    Who attended Infanta Sofia’s confirmation?

The Infanta Sofia was able to count on the presence of her closest family, including her sister Princess Leonor, who recently completed her baccalaureate studies in Wales. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were also present.

Unlike Leonor’s recent graduation from UWC Atlantic College on May 20, the young princesses’ grandmothers were more present at the religious confirmation ceremony.

Queen Sofia (paternal grandmother) and Paloma Rocasolano (maternal grandmother) surprised everyone by showing a union and affection never seen before, expressing a special affection for their granddaughters.

Another notable presence at the confirmation was Jesús Ortiz, Leonor, and Sofía’s maternal grandfather. The journalist decided to step forward on this significant day for his youngest granddaughter and posed with his family, showing his support and joy for this important moment.

It should be noted that due to the size of the religious temple, the number of people allowed was restricted.

    Who was Infanta Sofia’s godfather?

Within the framework of this religious ceremony, it is a tradition that the confirmands choose a godfather or godmother who assumes the responsibility of guiding them on the right path and providing them with support in the future if they need it. In the case of Infanta Sofia, her godfather was King Felipe VI, which gave the father a very important role in the ceremony.
