This is how Queen Camilla looked at a State Dinner in Kenya: Why wasn’t she wearing a tiara?

King Charles and Queen Camilla Parker made their first visit to Kenya as Queen  and King of England, where they were guests of honor at a state banquet hosted by President William Ruto.

Upon arrival, they were greeted by the President and his wife, First Lady Rachel Ruto, before joining other guests for a brief reception and then taking their seats at the head table.

During the banquet, both President Ruto and King Charles delivered speeches to the assembled guests.

In his speech, the King expressed regret for the suffering caused by Britain’s colonial past, although he did not offer a formal apology.

As for Queen Camilla’s appearance in Kenya, she dazzled everyone by wearing a flattering outfit consisting of a tunic-style blouse in blue and palazzo-style trousers designed by Anna Valentine.

She also accessorized with a diamond elephant bracelet and a Van Cleef & Arpels necklace.

But the most striking thing was that the Queen did not wear a tiara.

Given that this was a state visit, many were expecting to see what stunning jewelry the King’s wife would be wearing.

However, the queen decided to forgo the tiara to avoid potential controversy surrounding the monarchy in a country with a past of British rule and a history marked by violent repression during the Mau Mau rebellion in the 1950s, People magazine explained.

The state visit will be the king and queen’s first to a Commonwealth country since they ascended the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.
