The year 2023 was a year of great changes for the Infanta Sofia, who finished her studies at the Santa Maria de Los Rosales School and moved to Wales to begin her academic training at the UWC Atlantic College.
This new direction also meant a sentimental break with the young man who had been her “special friend” during her school years in Madrid, according to Spanish media reports.

Before leaving for Wales, Princess Leonor’s sister threw a farewell party for her classmates, including her “special friend”.
According to the media El Nacional, the celebration took place in a local, where there was music, dancing and emotional farewells.
“The participants did not consume alcohol because they were minors. Nor was there any food, since the guests were supposed to have eaten earlier,” the newspaper reports.
It also notes that the Infanta Sofia spent much of the evening with the young man with whom she had a special relationship.
This boy, whose name has not been revealed, was the last to say goodbye to the daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia.
“Like Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofia has closed an important chapter in her life,” the media said, adding that the Infanta and her boyfriend had decided to stop seeing each other.
“We are told that Sofia has no intention of continuing with this special friend beyond the rapprochement they have had. Maintaining a long-distance relationship, especially at her age, does not seem to be a viable option,” suggesting that their teenage courtship is over.
