Princess Kate and Prince William share many hobbies, but there is one in particular that the heir to the throne does not quite understand.

It is no secret that Kate, who is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer, is a lover of various sports.

What is Kate Middelton’s favorite extreme sport?

On several occasions, she has revealed her love for different sports disciplines, but there is one activity in particular for which William has called her “crazy”.

She made that revelation during an appearance on Mike Tindall’s podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.

The Princess of Wales mentioned that she “loves” doing this activity in the dark and cold.

“I can always remember being physical, using our bodies, whether it’s walking, climbing the Lake District, in Scotland [or] swimming from a young age. [My parents] always encouraged us to be physically active and sporty, and they always encouraged us into doing team sports and trying things,” she told Mike.

But what is that sport? Well, the future Queen enjoys cold water swimming.

Although she shares a passion for sports with her husband, the future King doesn’t like the activity at all.

“Cold swimming – the colder, the better. I absolutely love it. Slightly to the point where William’s [saying] ‘You’re crazy’ and it’s dark and it’s raining. I will go and seek out cold water. I love it.”

It’s worth noting that Prince William has a scuba diving degree and is president of the British Sub-Aqua Club.

Kate Middleton, for her part, holds the title of Advanced Open Water Diver from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).

Although many do not believe it, the princess can dive to a depth of up to 30 meters (98 feet).

The Princess had to pass a complex course that included five dives, one deep dive and one underwater navigation dive to obtain the qualification.

Diving is something that the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoy and have expressed their desire for their children to take an interest in the sport, a spokesperson for Kate confirmed to the Telegraph.

The Princess of Wales learned not only to handle diving equipment, but also to cope with the physiological effects of deeper dives.

Today Kate is concentrating on her recovery from her cancer diagnosis.

In a video posted on March 22, the princess revealed that she had begun preventive chemotherapy treatment.
