It was on May 4 when King Felipe and Queen Letizia traveled to Zaragoza to reunite with Princess Leonor.
The king, 56, and the queen, 51, attended a special event at the Zaragoza Military Academy, where their daughter has been training since August.
During this visit, they spent time together, took photos, and had dinner, showing their strong bond.
Now a new reunion date is scheduled. Soon, they will meet again, and this time, Princess Leonor will be the center of attention.
Royal Family Reunion: Princess Leonor’s Agenda
On Tuesday, May 21, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will travel again to Zaragoza to be with Princess Leonor on a significant day.
After nearly a year of studying in Zaragoza, Leonor will receive several honors, including the Medal of Aragón, the Medal of the Aragón Courts, and the title of Adoptive Daughter.
Each award will be given at a different location: the Aljafería, the Zaragoza City Hall, and the Seo del Salvador. Her parents will be with her at all these places.
According to ‘Monarquía Confidencial,’ King Felipe and Queen Letizia will not leave their daughter alone on this special day.
Just like in other important moments recently, such as her flag oath in October, they will be by her side, letting her take the spotlight while they watch with pride.
This support likely comforts Princess Leonor, especially since her father has experienced similar situations and understands what it feels like.
A Possible Private Reunion
Before May 21, there might be a private meeting between Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor.
On Saturday, May 18, Queen Letizia will attend the Copa de la Reina football final in Zaragoza.
She might visit the Zaragoza Military Academy to spend some time with Princess Leonor.
There is even a chance Leonor might join her mother at the football event, showing support for women’s football.
This role usually falls to her sister, Infanta Sofía, who is currently in Wales studying for her A-levels.
Infanta Sofía’s Absence
Infanta Sofía will not be able to join her family on May 21 due to her school commitments.
Studying at UWC Atlantic College in Wales has caused her to miss several important family events recently, like her father and sister’s flag oaths, the Military Easter, and the opening of the General Courts.
Once again, she will not be able to join her family in Zaragoza for this memorable day for her sister.
Princess Leonor’s Final School Term
Besides the reunion with her parents, Princess Leonor’s awards mean she will take a break from her exams at the Zaragoza Military Academy.
She will spend the day outside the academy for this royal duty and then return to finish her intense final exam period.
After the exams, Leonor and her classmates will start the final training and exercises from May 27 to June 7.
The next important date is June 19, the closing ceremony of the school year, where King Felipe and Queen Letizia might also attend.
On July 3, King Felipe VI will present the diplomas, and Princess Leonor could be there to bid farewell to her time at the military academy.
After that, Princess Leonor will have a shorter summer vacation with her family.
In August, she will move to Pontevedra to begin her second year of military training at the Naval Military School of Marín, including a stint on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano.
Before that, she will enjoy some rest days in Mallorca with her family at the Marivent Palace.
Infanta Sofía’s Summer Plans
Infanta Sofía is expected to return home for summer break at the end of May.
She will enjoy her vacation until the end of August before returning to Wales for her second year of A-levels.
Although she is focusing on her studies far from the Zarzuela Palace, she has an important event in her calendar.
In October, the winners of the ‘Objetivo Patrimonio. Photography Contest Infanta Sofía’ will be announced.
The accompanying gala, with a date yet to be decided, will be her first solo event, marking her commitment to the monarchy despite her educational focus.
