On a recent visit to Wales, Prince William shared personal details about his notable scar on his forehead, often likened to that of the famous wizard Harry Potter.

At 41, the Prince of Wales took advantage of his trip to delve into the innovative uses of marine plants at Cardiff Metropolitan University, an event organized by his environmental initiative, the Earthshot Prize, and the Commissioner for Future Generations of Wales.

The June 11th visit showcased the applications of seaweed, from its use in food to serving as a sustainable resource.

Among the enterprises featured were Notpla, a sustainable packaging startup that earned recognition in the “Building a Waste-Free World” category at the November 2022 Earthshot Prize awards, and Sea Forest, a finalist for the 2023 Earthshot Prize.

While inspecting a golf tee made from seaweed, Prince William recalled a childhood mishap that left him with a lasting scar.

“No more golf for me,” he quipped, remembering the golf club accident he had while playing with a friend.

The scar, which he has dubbed his “Harry Potter scar,” has become a distinctive feature that, according to him, sometimes “glows” and catches people’s attention, while at other times, it goes unnoticed.

The anecdote was corroborated by the BBC on its Newsround program, where Prince William recounted the moment of impact.

“I was playing golf with a friend of mine. We were on a putting green, and out of nowhere, a seven iron swung and hit me in the head” he said.

This revelation adds a human touch to the Prince’s profile, reminding us that even royals have personal stories to share.
