Last Monday, June 24, the news of Princess Anne’s accident caused great concern.
The sister of King Charles was admitted to hospital after suffering an accident at her Gatcombe Park residence on Sunday 23rd.
The 73-year-old princess, renowned for her diligent work within the royal family, experienced a concussion and some minor injuries, which required her hospitalization.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement informing that the princess was accompanied by her children and husband at the time of the incident.
Although she was initially reported to have suffered minor injuries and a concussion, she is currently in Bristol’s Southmead Hospital.
Her medical team decided to keep her under observation as a precaution, although her recovery is expected to be complete and without complications.
However, recently, more details about her health condition have been released, keeping the public and the media informed about her evolution.
What is wrong with Princess Anne
Princess Anne is in recovery after suffering an accident that has caused her memory loss.
According to reports from The Telegraph, the details of the incident are still unclear due to the concussion she experienced.
Her injuries suggest that she may have been struck by a horse’s head or legs.
Her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, visited her in hospital on June 25, providing an update on her condition:
“She is recovering well, thank you. We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care – and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude for the messages of support he received:
“We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal,” he added.
Sir Tim assured reporters that the princess “is doing well, recovering slowly but surely”.
Due to her hospitalization, Princess Anne will have to refrain from her official engagements, including the state visit of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said that, following medical advice, next week’s engagements will be postponed and that Princess Anne sends her apologies to those who may be affected or disappointed by these changes.
Her planned visit to Canada has also been cancelled, as it is not possible for her to travel in her current condition.
