Princess Anne is gradually returning to her public duties after recovering from a horse-related accident last month.

On July 19, King Charles’ sister made an appearance in a village near her Gloucestershire home to officially open the new emergency department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

This event was part of her scheduled public engagements.

Just a day prior, on July 18, news surfaced that Princess Anne had to cancel some of her upcoming engagements in Scotland and Norfolk.

Following her doctors’ advice, Anne is taking a more gradual approach to resuming her full-time work schedule.

Princess Anne was initially set to visit the NLV Pharos, a lighthouse tender in Scotland, on July 22 and 23. However, royal aides explained that the long travel distance from her Gloucestershire home made it impractical for her to make the trip at this time.

The visit to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital held particular significance for Princess Anne, as she had required emergency care following her accident on June 23.

Anne suffered a concussion and minor injuries in the incident at Gatcombe Park.

During her visit to the hospital, Princess Anne was seen engaging warmly with staff members.

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine praised her recovery, tweeting, “Wonderful to see that our patron, HRH the Princess Royal, is recovering well and will officially open the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s new emergency department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester today.”

Earlier in the week, on July 17, Princess Anne visited a British Army Military Intelligence Battalion in Salisbury, Wiltshire, which is also close to her home.

On July 12, she made her first public appearance since the accident by attending the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.

Despite the setback, she seemed to be in her element at the equestrian event, where she interacted with RDA supporters, presented awards, and met with winners.

After leaving Southmead Hospital in Bristol on June 28, Princess Anne has been receiving rehabilitation support at her Gatcombe Park home.
