Impressive. That is the word that best describes the appearance of Queen Letizia in Paris on Thursday, July 25.

The King and Queen of Spain have traveled to the French capital to attend the opening of the Olympic Games, and on this first day, Letizia dazzled in a new Dior dress, from the Haute Couture collection.

The King and Queen of Spain met at the Spanish Embassy in Paris with the Spanish Olympic team. Later, they attended a dinner with the International Olympic Committee at the prestigious Louvre Museum.

These meetings were the perfect opportunity for the Queen to pay tribute to France through her attire, choosing one of the most recognized fashion brands worldwide: Dior.

For the occasion, Queen Letizia opted for a dress from Dior’s Spring-Summer 2024 Haute Couture collection, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

This collection explores a metaphysical approach to fashion, with designs that reflect the concept of aura as a unique and transformative expression of the spirit, through a journey through the history of the maison’s haute couture.

The dress Letizia chose combines a black velvet top embroidered with rhinestones and a halter neckline, with a flared silk A-line skirt, adorned with paillettes and crystals. The Queen wore this work of art with total elegance.

She completed her look with Dior’s Adiorable shoes. True to her current footwear style, after an incident with her right foot, Letizia opted for sandals with a comfortable four-centimeter heel.

These feature a grosgrain bow with decorative resin beading and CD logo, along with an adjustable strap with buckle at the ankle and a leather sole with a star, Christian Dior’s lucky symbol.

Queen Letizia’s closet is mostly made up of garments by Spanish designers, to whom she gives visibility.

However, when she visits other countries, she often gives a nod to local fashion.

This happened, for example, at the event prior to the coronation of Charles III, where she wore an impeccable green dress by British designer Victoria Beckham.

Recently, in the Netherlands, she surprised with a blue dress by Benchellal.

In this event in Paris, Letizia has left everyone speechless by wearing a design of the French firm Dior, a clear tribute to the host country and one of its most emblematic brands.

    A dress lent by Dior

It is worth noting that the dress that Queen Letizia wore was borrowed from Dior.

This practice not only promotes the circular economy, by not impacting the budgets of the various royal houses, but also gives a second life to unique pieces created for the catwalks and then become part of the brands’ archives.

The use of borrowed garments aligns with the rental strategy that Queen Letizia has recently adopted.

Recently, at the Princess of Girona Awards, Letizia chose an Aje model rented through Lend the Label.
