Prince William made a solo appearance in Wales on Tuesday, September 10, a day after his wife Kate Middleton’s emotional announcement of completing her chemotherapy treatment.

The event held special significance for both William and Kate, who announced on September 9 that, after nine months, she had completed her treatment, which began following her diagnosis after abdominal surgery in January.

In a recorded message, Princess Kate shared her relief at having completed her chemotherapy treatment.

Kate Middleton announced that she has finished cancer treatment.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Princess Kate said in audio laid over the video, which was shot by Will Warr in Norfolk in August.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and unknown roads,” she continued.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” Princess Kate said, as footage rolled over a montage of moments of the Princess of Wales and her family, mostly shot outdoors.

Princess Kate also reflected on the complexity and fear involved in the cancer journey, highlighting how this experience confronts us with our vulnerabilities and offers us a new perspective on life.

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved,” she said.

The day culminated with a celebration of rugby, a sport central to Welsh culture. William spent time at Parc y Scarlets, home of the Scarlets Union rugby team, to pay tribute to members of the women’s national team, both past and present.

In addition, the Prince supported the Wales Rugby Union’s Missing Caps campaign and met with members of the international team, which recently qualified for the 2025 World Cup.
