Just a few weeks after starting her training at the Escuela Naval de Marín, Princess Leonor has already taken an important step in her military training.

After her admission last August 29, the following day the young heiress faced different tests and activities, during an inter-brigade competition, but her first trip to sea aboard training boats has been the highlight.

After a brief training, the princess and her companions have performed their first maneuvers in the training boats. This milestone marks the beginning of her practical experience at sea, a crucial facet of her naval training.

The Spanish Navy, through its official social media account, shared unpublished images and videos of the princess and her companions in action.

In one of the videos, Leonor can be seen performing fundamental maneuvers for navigation, such as rescuing a dummy on board and using the maritime radio, essential skills for any cadet in training.

Dressed in the regulation uniform consisting of a training suit, life jacket and a cap with the Naval School’s coat of arms, the princess showed great ease and concentration in each of the tasks.

According to an official communiqué from the Navy: “They have been trained in maneuvers as important as the man overboard recovery or the docking and undocking”.

However, beyond the technical skills, the teamwork and the growing cohesion among the trainees is emphasized, a key element in forging the bond between the crews.

This camaraderie is reminiscent of the bonds Leonor developed during her time at the Zaragoza Military Academy, where she shared similar experiences with her peers.

Despite being in the early stages of her training, Leonor has already been distinguished with a badge, as have the rest of the cadets who met the previous year’s academic and discipline requirements. This recognition is an indication of her commitment and effort in her preparation to become an officer.

The future of the princess at the Naval Academy is full of challenges, and one of the most exciting will be her joining the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano from January.
