Throughout her speech, Letizia also highlighted the crucial role of innovation in the oncology field.

“Innovation is key to making knowledge transfer a reality, improving equity in access to treatments, and increasing both survival rates and patients’ quality of life,” she explained.

Her speech was not only loaded with technical content, but also with a profound recognition of the work of the researchers.

“All of us gathered here share a strong commitment to the promotion and advancement of cancer research,” she added.

The Queen ended her speech with an invitation to continue listening to those at the forefront of scientific research:

“It is essential to give visibility to the invaluable efforts of scientists and researchers. Thank you all for being here and for your dedication to this cause.”

This event in Milan reaffirms Queen Letizia’s dedication to cancer research, an area in which she has shown great interest and commitment over the years.

“First of all, allow me to deeply thank the Fondazione, Istituto Fondazione di Oncologia Molecolare for hosting us today and for giving me the opportunity to witness the remarkable work performed here. Well, I think it was crucial, and I have to come back.

I would also like to recognise and appreciate the hard work by the Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro and the Asociación Española contra el Cancer for the hard work in organising this very important event for the world cancer research. All of us gathered here today share a strong commitment to promoting and advancing cancer research.

Our foremost goal is to ensure that the knowledge derived from this research truly and effectively reaches patients as quickly as possible. This year, you know, the focus is on innovation. Innovation is trying to make the knowledge transfer into reality to enhance equity in the access to treatments and, of course, to improve both the survival rates and, of course, the quality of life for patients.

So let us now listen to those who have the deepest insights and could bring the visibility to the invaluable effort of scientists and researchers.

Thank you all for being here. And, of course, thank you also for your dedication to this.

    Thank you.”
