Queen Mary of Denmark has made a dazzling entrance on her first official visit to Germany as Queen Consort.
Although not a state trip, the reception at Bellevue Palace by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, spared no formality. And as usual, Mary did not disappoint with her impeccable fashion sense.
Queen Mary’s Fashion in Germany
For this important event, the queen decided to retrieve from her closet an outfit she had already worn on an official visit to Norway last May.
It was an elegant pencil skirt with a delicate plaid print in shades of beige and sky blue, designed by the celebrated Emilia Wickstead, a favorite of British royalty, including Princess Kate and the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Matching the skirt perfectly, Mary wore a sky blue blouse by Danish designer Jasper Hovring. This garment, with its distinctive wrap neckline, puffed sleeves and cuffs, is a favorite of the Queen, who has it in various colors, from lilac to black and white.
Following the Danish protocol for official visits, Mary adorned her head with an elegant headband in sky blue, made of ruffled fabric and decorated with a bow at the back. This detail, far from being extravagant, added a sophisticated and majestic touch, without stealing the limelight.
To complete her look, Mary opted for towering nude-colored Prada pumps with a heel of more than ten centimeters, and wore a matching coat that protected her from the low German temperatures. In her hand, a Prada handbag in nude tones, creating a perfectly coordinated outfit.
