Queen Camilla retires from her royal duties due to health issues: what’s affecting her and who will take her place?

Queen Camilla has had to change her schedule of royal duties due to health problems.

Just when everyone thought that the British royal family was sailing in calm waters, another setback has come along the way.

This time, Queen Camilla is forced to cancel all her official engagements due to health problems.

The 77-year-old Queen Consort has just returned to the UK after a recent tour of Australia and Samoa with King Charles but now faces a particular health battle.

    What is Queen Camilla’s illness?

Queen Camilla has had to withdraw from all royal duties this week due to a chest infection.

“Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman reported.

“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal. She apologises to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”

Although the queen will miss the Field of Remembrance on Thursday, she hopes to be able to attend the memorial events scheduled for the weekend.

In the meantime, Camilla is resting at home and hopes to be back in action by the end of the week.

No further details about her condition or treatment have yet been released, but it is known that she is under medical supervision.

Who will be Queen Camilla’s replacement?

With a smaller monarchy than ever, it is natural for many to wonder who will take Queen Camilla’s place while she convalesces.

Stepping in to carry out her engagements will be Birgitte, the 78-year-old Duchess of Gloucester, who will replace the queen to attend the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, Nov. 7.
