Harry of Sussex By Lillian Torres

Prince Harry is back in the legal fray, and there’s already a date set for his next court appearance

Prince Harry will return to court. The son of King Charles is preparing to face another legal battle in his fight against the media.

The Duke of Sussex is pressing ahead with his case against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the Rupert Murdoch empire behind publications such as The Sun.

The allegations range from illegal information gathering to shadier practices such as phone hacking.

David Sherborne, Harry’s lawyer, has confirmed that Prince Harry’s case is expected to go to trial in January 2025.

Recently, a High Court ruling allowed Harry’s legal team access to additional emails between NGN staff and members of the royal household. These emails are considered by Harry’s lawyers to be essential to his defense.

Sherborne argues that NGN’s previous disclosures were incomplete and omitted critical documents that could support the duke’s allegations.

Prince Harry’s case is just one part of a broader set of claims against NGN, which also includes serious allegations of illegal activities such as wiretapping and private data collection.

While 39 other plaintiffs have opted to settle, the Duke of Sussex remains determined to make his voice heard.

In an interview for ITV’s “Tabloids on Trial,” Prince Harry opened up about how the lawsuits have affected his relationship with the royal family.

“Yeah, that’s certainly a central piece to it,” he acknowledged, emphasizing that his fight for justice against the press is fundamental, despite the personal effects it has had on his life.

However, it’s not all that simple. “But, you know, that’s a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press,” he shared.

Since he decided to step back from his royal role he has faced countless challenges.

“I’ve made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It’d be nice if we did it as a family. I believe, again, from a service standpoint and when you’re in a public role that these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. But, you know, I’m doing this for my reasons.”

Clearly, Harry’s quest for justice is a lonely but necessary path.
