Although this year Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will not be present at the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, the daughters of Prince Andrew wanted to make a friendly gesture to their uncle, King Charles.

Recently, the media published that for the first time in many years, the Duke of York’s daughters will be absent from Christmas at Sandringham.

The reason behind this decision is that both have family commitments to attend to, as both Eugenie and Beatrice were invited to spend the holidays with their in-laws.

Despite not being at one of the Windsors’ most iconic family gatherings, the sisters made an appearance at the Royal Christmas Lunch hosted by King Charles.

Beatrice, 36, and Eugenie, 34, were spotted arriving at Buckingham Palace on Dec. 19 for the traditional Christmas lunch.

Both arrived accompanied by their husbands. Beatrice, who is expecting her second child, was all smiles as she traveled with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Eugenie, meanwhile, enjoyed the scenery while traveling with Jack Brooksbank.

It is important to mention that both Prince Andrew, 64, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will not be at the celebration this Christmas.

This is due to the controversy related to Prince Andrew and his alleged links to a Chinese spy. Andrew and Sarah will also not attend the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.

At the Buckingham lunch, Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were also not seen, as the Wales family moved to Norfolk, more than 100 miles from London, to enjoy a more intimate Christmas.

Among the royals who did make it to the luncheon at Buckingham were King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne with her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, as well as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. A few additional friends and family members were also on hand.

On the other hand, Lady Sarah Chatto, the daughter of the late Princess Margaret, was seen arriving with her husband Daniel and son Samuel, along with Margaret’s granddaughter, Lady Margaret Armstrong-Jones.

Princess Alexandra, Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, made a special appearance at this family event, and Penny Knatchbull, a friend of the late Prince Philip, was also present.

The Daily Mail also reported the attendance of Lady Gabriella Windsor, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael. It seems that, although some may not be at Sandringham, the royal festivities are still going strong at Buckingham.
