Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie ‘Desperate’ Over Prince Andrew’s Scandals

The personal life of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of York has been deeply marked by the complicated situation of their father, Prince Andrew.

What was once a leading figure in the British royal family, has now become a sensitive issue, both for the institution and for his daughters, who have had to deal with the weight of his public controversies.

From his involvement in the Epstein affair to his questioned relationship with a Chinese spy, scandals have surrounded Prince Andrew for years, eroding his public image.

These situations led King Charles III to take firm decisions: removing him from his official duties, withdrawing his annual allowance and asking him to leave Royal Lodge, his residence at Windsor since 2003.

However, the impact of these decisions has gone beyond the institutional sphere, directly affecting Beatrix and Eugenie.

According to royal expert Arthur Edwards, the princesses are “desperate for Prince Andrew to change”. Despite everything, both maintain a close bond with their father.

They describe him as a kind and loving man on a family level, which explains why they continue to support him publicly.

They have not considered eliminating his presence from family events or stop sharing pictures with him. For them, Andrés has been a good father, beyond his public mistakes.

This family loyalty, however, is not without tensions. The princesses have had to balance their personal affection with public pressure and the decisions of the Crown.

On occasions, such as last Christmas, Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, considered not attending Sandringham to spend the festivities with Andrew and Sarah Ferguson in the Cotswolds, as the prince had been excluded from official events in Norfolk.

Despite the discomfort generated by the situation, King Charles III has made it clear that he distinguishes between Andrew’s private life and the institutional role of his daughters.

For him, Beatrice and Eugenie represent a safe value for the monarchy, beyond the scandals of their father.

This differentiation has allowed them to maintain their place in the public sphere, even if Andrew’s shadow continues to be cast over them.
