Crown Princess Amalia of the Netherlands took center stage on February 22, 2025, as she carried out her first official solo engagement—a momentous occasion that marked a significant milestone in her royal duties.
The young princess traveled to Vlissingen to christen the Combat Support Ship (CSS) ‘Den Helder,’ a vessel designed and built by Damen Naval for the Ministry of Defence.
The ‘Den Helder’ will play a crucial role as the newest supply ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy, ensuring that naval vessels at sea worldwide receive essential supplies such as fuel, ammunition, water, food, and spare parts.
With its almost 180 meters in length, the vessel can be deployed for humanitarian missions, refugee aid and international counter-narcotics operations.
During the ceremony, Princess Amalia carried out the traditional christening ritual.
Following the event, she was given an exclusive tour of the impressive vessel, where she met with crew members and those responsible for its construction.
Princess Amalia’s style in her first solo act
For this historic engagement, Princess Amalia exuded elegance in a sophisticated ensemble featuring a tailored Max Mara Osanna blazer and Senna trousers in a striking fragola shade.
She complemented the look with a Max Mara Megaton camel hair coat—an elegant piece borrowed from her mother, Queen Máxima.
Her accessories were just as refined, including Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps in tan nappa leather, a Marina Raphael Savannah bag in tan raffia, and LOTT.gioielli Classic Circle M earrings.
Completing her look, a delicate headband added a subtle regal touch to her style.
