King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands landed in Kenya on the afternoon of March 17, kicking off a state visit in response to an invitation from President William Ruto.
Upon their arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, they were received with honors by the Kenyan President, marking the beginning of an agenda focused on strengthening diplomatic and trade relations between the two countries.
Queen Maxima’s style on her arrival in Kenya
For this special occasion, Queen Maxima opted for a style that did not go unnoticed, standing out for its references to the local culture.
Her main choice was a cardigan by Kenyan designer Anna Trzebinski, adorned with embroidered seams, yellow and blue details, an eye-catching number “8” and a zipper decorated with beads and feathers.
The monarch complemented her outfit with a pair of red wide-cut pants and a white top, achieving a good balance, also adapting to the Nairobi temperatures.
But it was her accessories that also caught the eye. Maxima chose tassel earrings by Miccy and Carol espadrilles by Spanish brand Castañer.
