Princess Kate made a striking entrance at Wellington Barracks on March 17 for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, an appearance that quickly captured the attention of social media.
A video of the moment, showing soldiers rising to their feet in respect as she arrived, went viral on TikTok, amassing over 790,100 views and 71,100 likes.
The user who uploaded the video wrote at the bottom of the video: “She’s just 100% aura”.

This visit marked an important return to royal duties for the Princess of Wales, who had largely stepped away from public engagements in 2024.
In 2025, however, she has gradually resumed her schedule, with this event highlighting her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards—an honorary military title she holds.
Kate had been expected to lead the “Colonel’s Review” in June, a key rehearsal for Trooping the Colour, King Charles III’s official birthday parade. However, due to her chemotherapy treatment at the time, she was unable to attend.
During her visit to Wellington Barracks, Kate was accompanied by Major General Sir Chris Ghika, Regimental Lieutenant Colonel of the Irish Guards.
Princess took time to engage with the soldiers, sharing a drink to mark the regiment’s 125th anniversary. She enjoyed a half-pint of Guinness and even put money behind the bar, treating the troops to a round of drinks.
At one point, in a conversation with the soldiers, Kate reflected on the challenges of balancing professional responsibilities with personal life, acknowledging: “Being able to manage that work-life balance—it’s tough.”
