Queen Mathilde of Belgium has shown off her style on the first day of her state visit to Vietnam, where she and King Philippe embarked on a diplomatic tour packed with cultural engagements and official meetings.
The visit, which takes place from April 1 to 3, 2025, has marked an important moment in Belgian-Vietnamese relations, where Mathilde’s styling has not gone unnoticed.
Mathilde’s style on the first day in Vietnam
The royal couple’s visit began with a solemn tribute: they laid a wreath at the Monument to National Heroes and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Shortly after, they were formally received at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi by Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and First Lady Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet.
For this official moment, Queen Mathilde opted for a sophisticated outfit: a knee-length dress with long sleeves in a vibrant orange shade by Natan Couture.
She completed the look with her signature Fabienne Delvigne hat, classic Mango pumps in light brown and an elegant gold leaf brooch by Natan Couture.
Accessories, such as a Rolex Datejust watch and refined Natan earrings, enhanced her refined aesthetic.
Cultural engagements and a subtle change of wardrobe
After the formal ceremony, the First Lady invited Queen Matilda to explore the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where they were able to delve into Vietnam’s historical legacy.
Later, Matilda visited the Hanoi National Children’s Hospital, a key institution with a long-standing partnership with Belgian medical organizations.
For this part of the visit, the queen wore a more understated but elegant outfit by Meer Couture. It is a traditional Vietnamese dress in indigo with white embroidery.
She paired it with navy blue satin Christian Dior D-Moi heels and a matching Dior clutch. Her unfailing Rolex Datejust watch remained a staple accessory.
An elegant evening banquet
As night fell, the royal couple attended a state banquet at the Hanoi International Convention Center, hosted by President Luong Cuong and First Lady Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet.
This grand occasion called for an exquisite look, and Queen Matilda pulled it off in a stunning Dries Van Noten gown.
She accessorized with diamond and kunzite earrings from Sotheby’s, which added a touch of opulence to the evening.
