Pilar Eyre, journalist specialized in monarchy issues, has shared her vision about the less visible profile of the royal family: the Infanta Sofia.
According to the expert, the youngest daughter of the kings will not follow the military path of her sister Leonor and will opt for a university career, although there is still no definitive decision.
Infanta Sofía’s Role in the Royal Family
Eyre assures that Sofia stands out for her intellectual curiosity and her interest in current affairs.
“She reads the press, follows what’s happening on the Internet and writes in her school newsletter,” he explained.
She even dared to imagine her studying journalism, like her mother, Queen Letizia.
About her place in the Royal House, Eyre believes that Sofia will play a key role as her sister’s support. She compares it to the relationship between Queen Sofia and her sister Irene, inseparable since they arrived in Spain.
In his opinion, the closeness between Leonor and Sofia will be fundamental for the future queen.
What Eyre does make clear is that Sofia is not a secondary figure. Less exposed, yes, but prepared, perhaps, for a more defined role in the coming years.
