Princess Leonor is at a crucial stage in her training as future head of state. Since entering the General Military Academy in Zaragoza in August 2023, she has spent more than 600 days away from home, far from the familiar surroundings of La Zarzuela.
This experience has been marked by an intense routine, physical demands, and the need to comply with rules with the same discipline as the rest of her classmates, without any preferential treatment.
One of the most significant aspects of this stage has been financial independence. Like any other cadet, Leonor receives a monthly allowance of no more than 500 euros.
With this amount, she has learned to manage her own expenses, a practice that is part of the objective of fostering self-control and responsibility.
This autonomy has also been reflected in her social life, as she has built new friendships far from her usual environment, based on camaraderie and common effort.
The training process she is undergoing provides her with military knowledge and strengthens essential values such as austerity, a sense of duty, and exemplary behavior. These virtues take on special meaning in someone destined to represent an institution that embodies the continuity of the state.
The idea is to prepare her technically and forge a personality capable of taking on public challenges with integrity.
Soon, the princess will continue on this path at the San Javier Air Academy, where she will complete her military training.
This new stage will allow her to continue deepening her understanding of the values that characterize the Armed Forces and reinforce her commitment to the Crown and to the citizens who, in the future, will be under her representation.
