Have you noticed that Queen Letizia never wears nail polish? It’s not a coincidence or an oversight.
In a world where every detail counts—especially if you live in the spotlight—she has decided to keep her hands natural. No bright reds or sophisticated nudes, just short, rounded nails without polish.
The reason, according to people close to the Royal Household, is very practical. Apparently, Letizia hates the unexpected. Chipped polish, a broken nail… and the perfect look is ruined.
So, to avoid last-minute drama, she prefers to forget about color and opt for a clean and simple manicure. A choice that, in her case, ends up being part of her trademark.
Of course, there have been exceptions. The first was when she was introduced as the fiancée of the then Prince Felipe. On that occasion, she wore a translucent white polish to show off her engagement ring.
The second was on her wedding day, with an almost invisible transparent shine.
And the third, the most daring, was in 2018, with a cherry red during the presentation of the Golden Fleece to Princess Leonor.
In other monarchies, such as the British or Dutch, they have not completely renounced color, but they tend toward discreet nude shades, something that many attribute to the influence of Elizabeth II.
Letizia, on the other hand, has made her natural manicure a constant.
