Every September, The Hague dresses up for Prinsjesdag, and in 2025, the Dutch royal family once again demonstrated their mastery of blending tradition and fashion.

The day, marking the official opening of the parliamentary year, was held at the Royal Theater, where King Willem-Alexander delivered the eagerly awaited Speech from the Throne. But amidst the speeches and protocol, it was the looks of the royal ladies that captured the most attention.

Queen Máxima once again chose her go-to designer, Jan Taminiau, with a maxi dress that exuded elegance. Her ensemble, paired with a Berry Rutjes hat and matching shoes, once again placed her at the center of attention.

Her daughters didn’t lag behind either. Princess Amalia dazzled in a yellow Taller Marmo dress, paired with a clutch inherited from her mother, while Alexia opted for a one-shoulder design in an eggplant hue by Solace London.

The youngest, Ariane, made her debut this year at Prinsjesdag in a Victoria Beckham dress, a nod to modernity that she complemented with sapphire and diamond earrings borrowed from the Queen.

This detail seems most significant to me, as it is an accessory steeped in history that, in a way, marked her official entry into this state event.

After the ceremony, the family appeared on the balcony of the Noordeinde Palace to greet the public, a classic gesture that annually reaffirms the Dutch monarchy’s closeness to the people.
