Oviedo has awakened to the rhythm of bagpipes and anticipation. As is the case every year, the Hotel de la Reconquista has been the epicenter of the audiences preceding the Princess of Asturias Awards, an event that combines both protocol and intimacy.
The entire royal family – the King and Queen, Princess Leonor, and Princess Sofia – upheld tradition by greeting award winners, officials, and students on a day filled with anecdotes and memorable moments.
Since their arrival, fashion has also taken center stage. All three royals wore suits, but each with their own personal touch: Queen Letizia in Mango, Leonor in an elegant Hugo Boss outfit, and Sofia in a Tommy Hilfiger look.
The interesting detail was the shoes, as they all opted for comfort. Letizia wore low heels from Sézane, while her daughters opted for flats, a style very much in Sofia’s character. As is well known, Sofia prefers a natural look over heels, and also avoids them because she is the tallest.
