The BBC issued an apology following its coverage of Armistice Day, after referring to the Princess of Wales as “Kate Middleton” instead of her official title. As they explained, “These were errors during live broadcasting hours, for which we apologize.”
The confusion occurred during the live broadcast, although she was correctly identified as Catherine, Princess of Wales, throughout the rest of the coverage.

The reaction was swift, with several members of the British Parliament expressing their dissatisfaction on social media, reminding the network that since 2011, when she married Prince William, she is no longer “Kate Middleton.”
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, William became Prince of Wales, and Catherine officially assumed her title. Despite this, the media and much of the public still refer to them as “William and Kate Middleton,” leading to confusion, as seen with the BBC.

While the BBC is publicly apologizing, the Princess of Wales remains focused on her work. She recently participated in the Future Workforce summit, where she spoke about the importance of early childhood.
