After weeks of anticipation, the Air Force finally released the first images of Princess Leonor in training. Since September, when she entered the San Javier Air and Space Academy for her third year of training, we knew an intense period was coming.
Now we see it clearly: the heiress to the Spanish throne appears focused, integrated into her group, and facing the new challenges that mark this new military chapter.

What is Leonor doing in her SERE training?
The photos show Leonor as an officer, actively engaged with her colleagues. In the photograph, everyone is gathered around a laptop receiving instructions, and she appears calm and attentive to the class.

According to the institution, the exercise began on November 26th and lasted three days. It was time to apply what she had learned in SERE, a training program that combines survival, evasion, resistance to capture, and extraction. It’s tough, yes, but it’s part of the path she chose.

The exercise, named Devas, brought together several units, including the Parachute Demolition Squadron and Ala 49, which even participated with a helicopter. The goal was to integrate knowledge ranging from CSAR procedures to special forces tactics.

The Army describes it as a “more complete and realistic” training environment, which directly enhances preparation for future missions. And this is where one realizes that Leonor isn’t just following protocol; she’s being trained to take on real responsibilities, and the level of demand makes that clear.

These maneuvers come just days after she was seen in a completely different setting: the events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Spanish monarchy, where she reunited with her entire family.
