Welcoming a head of state always creates moments that speak louder than protocol, and Princess Kate once again demonstrated this during her meeting with the German President and his wife in London.
The couple landed at Heathrow to begin their official visit to the United Kingdom, and the first to greet them were William and Kate, who traveled to the airport before their transfer to Windsor.

From the start, it was clear she had prepared a look full of meaning, with a direct nod to Princess Diana’s memory.
The blue coat, designed by Alexander McQueen, was the focal point of the ensemble. Kate had worn it for the first time at the 2023 Christmas Mass at Sandringham, a date that became iconic due to her subsequent surgery and the long recovery period that forced the princess to pause her schedule.

Now, nearly two years later, she brought it back, paired with a Juliette Millinery headdress adorned with two crossed arrows – one of the most distinctive pieces in her wardrobe. Navy blue high boots and a matching clutch completed the look, which balanced formal and sentimental elements without losing its structure.

The jewelry added a symbolic touch, making the ensemble a small tribute to Diana. Kate wore the sapphire earrings, encircled by diamonds, that the Saudi royal family had given the princess as a wedding gift. They were designed to complement the famous engagement ring she also wore.

She also added a brooch created in 1863 for Queen Alexandra, a piece linked to the title of Prince of Wales by the three ostrich feathers at its center. Diana wore it at the time, then it passed to Camilla, and now Kate is the only one in the family authorized to wear it at high-profile events.
