The Queen was up to her usual tricks again this Wednesday. She attended the Royal Spanish Academy to celebrate two decades of the Fundación del Español Urgente (FundéuRAE), of which she is the honorary president, and chose a dress we were already familiar with: the pearl gray Felicita de Cortana model.
It’s a midi dress crafted from virgin wool, featuring a V-neckline and Japanese sleeves, promising both comfort and elegance.

She first wore it in Tudela in November 2023 and has since worn it at least three times. Nothing new under the royal sun, but the detail is there.
What’s interesting is how she adapts it. The first time, she wore it as it was, with no extras. Then, in February of this year, she added a wide black Hugo Boss belt that accentuated her waist and completely transformed her silhouette.

This Wednesday, she repeated the belt formula, and it truly works: it gives structure to a dress that is already quite relaxed. But of course, now we must ask whether it looks better with or without that addition. I prefer the belt, but it’s a matter of personal taste.
Footwear also evolved. In Tudela, she took a risk with Nina Ricci over-the-knee boots featuring very high heels, a style often seen on the runway. Today, she opted for something more sensible: black suede boots by Magrit, featuring a low, comfortable heel.

This change reflects what we’ve been seeing in her lately: prioritizing comfort without sacrificing style.
The jewelry was discreet yet impactful: Shawel earrings from Gold & Roses, featuring three rose gold and diamond hoops, complemented by her signature Coreterno ring.
