Leonor of Borbón By Lillian Torres

The Event That Could Bring Princess Leonor Back to Spain

Will Princess Leonor Attend Constitution Anniversary
Will Princess Leonor Attend Constitution Anniversary?

On February 17th, Spain will experience a historic moment. The 1978 Constitution will officially become the longest-lived in our history. To commemorate this occasion, King Felipe will preside over a joint session in the Congress of Deputies, attended by all the highest state institutions.

And here’s the interesting part. Given the event’s magnitude, there is speculation that the entire Royal Family will attend. That would mean Princess Leonor would pause her military training in Murcia, and Infanta Sofia would return from her studies abroad. A meeting of the Spanish royal family appears imminent.

For Leonor, this isn’t just another item on the agenda. As heir to the throne, her presence at a commemoration celebrating the Constitution reinforces her commitment to the values she swore to uphold.

She recently returned to Madrid to privately celebrate her father’s birthday, but this would mark her official return in style.

It’s the kind of event where her institutional role truly makes sense, where it’s clear why she’s undergoing all that military training and preparing for what lies ahead.

The joint session on February 17th will carry all the symbolic weight you can imagine. Representatives and senators will be present, and Felipe’s speech is expected to emphasize the importance of consensus.

Media anticipation is already high, as everyone is eager to see the entire family gathered for an event of this magnitude.

We’ll see if he finally makes the trip from Murcia, but everything indicates he will. It would be unusual to miss something like that.
