On Wednesday, April 22, King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a luncheon at the Royal Palace prior to the presentation of the 2025 Miguel de Cervantes Prize for Literature in the Spanish Language, which was held the following day in the Paraninfo Auditorium of the University of Alcalá.
The award went to Mexican writer Gonzalo Celorio, and the event brought together representatives from the world of literature in one of those occasions where protocol coexists with relaxed conversation away from the cameras.

For the occasion, Queen Letizia brought out her baby blue Hugo Boss Vrima skirt, a piece with quite a bit of history in her wardrobe that she first wore in June 2019; this Wednesday marked her eighth appearance with it.

What changed this time was the pairing. Instead of seeking contrast with a white blouse or a navy sweater, she opted for a monochrome look with a silk shirt in the same powdery blue shade, featuring a V-neckline and flowing sleeves. The overall effect is almost deceptive to the eye, like a faux dress that lengthens the figure with seemingly no effort. The skirt’s built-in belt did the rest.

Magrit’s nude slingback shoes completed the look, employing a trick that Letizia uses to great effect: nude-colored footwear visually lengthens the leg and allows the main color to stand out.

As for jewelry, she wore teardrop-shaped aquamarine earrings with a diamond hoop from the Madrid-based brand Aldao, a piece she received as a gift when Princess Leonor was born in 2005, paired with her usual Coreterno ring.
