On May 6, Meghan Markle shared an Instagram post celebrating Archie’s birthday, featuring two photos we hadn’t seen before.
The message was simple, “7 years later… happy birthday to our sweet boy 🤍,” but the images said much more than the text. This snapshot confirms that these children are growing up far from everything that comes with being part of the British royal family.

Photos of Archie for his 7th birthday
The first image is previously unseen and carries a great deal of sentimental weight, as it shows Harry holding a sleeping, newborn Archie on his chest, wrapped in a blanket, while they sit on the sofa.
The second photo is more recent and shows Archie and his 4-year-old sister Lilibet walking together on a beach near their home in Montecito.

Archie is carrying a walking stick, and both of them have reddish hair that glows in the light—hair they inherited from their father, which Harry has always attributed to the Spencer genes, those of Princess Diana.
Since the Sussexes stepped down from their royal roles in 2020, Archie and Lilibet have been growing up in California, leading a life that Meghan has described on several occasions as normal, to the extent possible.

Meghan returned to Instagram in 2025 and has since shared some moments with her children, something that was almost unthinkable before. For many, today’s photos are among the most personal she has posted.
