Princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne, is nearing the end of her military training in Murcia and is preparing to embark on a new chapter in Madrid.
In July, Infanta Sofia’s older sister will return permanently to the Palacio de La Zarzuela, her family home, after five years living abroad between Wales, Zaragoza, Marín, the ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, and Murcia.

Starting in September, she will begin her degree in Political Science at the Carlos III University of Madrid (Getafe campus).
Her daily routine will involve commuting from the Zarzuela Palace to the campus—about a 30-minute trip—and attending classes just like any other student, according to professors consulted. However, her presence will inevitably draw attention.

Returning home means getting back into family routines, living with her parents again, and enjoying a life more like that of any young person her age: going out with friends, socializing, and experiencing college life. All of this while she balances her studies with official engagements, as announced by the Royal Household.

Before starting college, Leonor will have a few busy weeks:
- June 3: She will receive several honors in Murcia, including Gold Medals and the title of Honorary Daughter of San Javier.
- June 6 and 7: She will take part in events alongside her parents and sister during Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Spain.
- July: Her father will preside over the commissioning ceremony that will mark the end of his military service.
- Summer in Mallorca: where she will once again appear before the press in a more relaxed setting.
Leonor will begin her university years with pride, a strong public image, and the satisfaction of having completed a challenging phase, ready to tackle both her academic life and her institutional role.
