In an unexpected turn of events, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is facing new and troubling allegations that threaten to further tarnish her public image.
Recently, after an initial attempt to improve her reputation through the support of some of her employees, more revelations have emerged that fuel the controversy surrounding her behavior as a boss.
For some time now, Markle has been under fire for her alleged difficulty in dealing with her staff.
In the past, she was attributed the nickname “Duchess Difficult ” in British royal circles, a stigma that seems to persist.
Although a group of employees had come to her defense, sharing positive anecdotes about their time working with Prince Harry’s wife, the recent allegations complicate her situation.
Allegations against Meghan Markle
A report published by the Daily Beast has uncovered explosive statements from former employees calling Meghan a “demon” at work.
“She is lovely when it is all going her way but a demon when the worm turns,” the source added.
A source close to her work environment recounted disturbing experiences, describing times when several staffers were “trashed” both in person and over the phone, causing them to feel humiliated.
“There definitely were bad, very bad, even psycho moments,” they told the Daily Beast. “I witnessed people being chewed up in person and over the phone and made to feel like s-t.”
This same source, despite their criticism, admitted that Markle’s behavior could be influenced by her own personal problems, which she herself has shared, including episodes of emotional crisis.
Another former employee, who worked with Markle during preparations for her 2018 wedding, labeled the duchess a “narcissist.”
This witness claimed that Markle’s asking her staff to speak positively about her in media outlets only confirmed their opinion of her selfishness.
“I always thought she was a classic narcissist and getting her staff to tell a magazine how amazing she is only confirms that in my mind,” they said.
Criticism also stems from a specific episode in which a florist was allegedly shouted at for a prolonged period for publicly referring to a minor detail related to a bouquet he was preparing for Markle.
“Screamed at down the phone” for half an hour because they allegedly “posted an insignificant detail online about a bouquet they were working on for Meghan.”
Such incidents have led to a tense and anxiety-filled working environment for those who have been in her service.
So far, neither Meghan nor Prince Harry have issued official comments on these allegations that cast a shadow over the reputation of the Duchess of Sussex.
