Despite the difficult circumstances they are going through due to the cancer diagnosis of King Charles III, the celebration of their 20th wedding anniversary with Queen Camilla has gone ahead with a discreet and deeply symbolic elegance.
The couple have chosen Rome, the eternal city, as the setting to commemorate two decades of life together, and they have done so with a gesture charged with romanticism: publishing two new official photographs from the residence of the British ambassador to Italy, Villa Wolkonsky.

Charles and Camilla Celebrate 20 Years in Rome
In the images, taken by the royal family’s trusted photographer Chris Jackson, Charles and Camilla are seen smiling, relaxed and united.
Although Camila landed in Italy wearing a blue outfit, she decided to change to pose in a white dress with long sleeves and V-neckline, a design by Anna Valentine that refers directly to the style she wore on her wedding day.
It’s not a coincidence: it was a subtle but clear way to relive that moment that marked a new beginning for both of them.
The most touching detail, however, was the brooch that the queen chose to complement her outfit.
It is a jewel of great sentimental value, a feather-shaped emblem made with diamonds and a black pearl, created by King Edward VII.
This historical piece is linked to Alice Keppel, Camilla’s great-grandmother, with whom Edward VII had a special relationship.
On social media, the kings accompanied the images with a close and optimistic message:
“As we begin our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, we are so looking forward to celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place – and with such wonderful people! A presto, Roma e Ravenna!”, signing as Charles R & Camilla R.
The visit to Italy, which coincides with the exact date of the anniversary this Wednesday, April 9, will include several official engagements and will conclude with a gala dinner at the Quirinale Palace, hosted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
Undoubtedly, this trip symbolizes the strength of a couple that, after so many years together, continues to find reasons to celebrate love.
