The Infanta Sofia said goodbye to Spain after spending the Christmas holidays with her family.
The youngest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia returned to Wales, where she is studying at the prestigious UWC Atlantic College.
Sofia’s absence in the country has caused disappointment among Spaniards who expected to see the two royal daughters participate in some public event during their stay.
However, neither Sofia nor Leonor made an official appearance, and now the Infanta will have to leave her homeland once again.
Back to School for Infanta Sofia
According to the school calendar of the Atlantic College of Wales, the Infanta Sofia has to start classes this Wednesday, January 3rd.
In addition, after her return to Wales, Sofia will miss a very important event for the royal family and for the training of her older sister as future queen.
It is the Military Parade, which is celebrated on January 6 and this year will see the debut of Princess Leonor.
The Infanta will also miss the traditional Epiphany tea party that Leonor and Sofia’s maternal grandfather, Jesús Ortiz, usually hosts at his home.
There, Felipe, Letizia and their daughters usually share the roscón and spend some time with the family.
This year, Sofia will have to settle for seeing them via video call while she adjusts to her new life abroad.
