The relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton has been the subject of numerous rumors.
The Prince and Princess of Wales began their romance while studying at the University of St Andrews.
After several years together, the couple decided to separate for a while, only to reconcile and eventually get engaged.
However, the latest season of The Crown features an event that, while fictional, casts doubt on its veracity.
Carole Middleton pressured Kate about her relationship with William
In some of the most recent episodes of The Crown, we see Carole Middleton, a character played by British actress Eve Best, as a loving and close mother to Kate.
The series, created by Peter Morgan, shows a trusting relationship between the two.
However, on the other hand, Carole is also described as a person obsessed with her daughter’s conquest of Prince William, even directly influencing her decisions.
This included encouraging her to take a year off after school to follow in the footsteps of the heir to the British throne, and to choose to study at St Andrews instead of Edinburgh University, which was apparently Kate’s favorite.
He then urged her to enroll at St. Andrews the following year, so that Kate and William could begin their university studies together.
Although they both chose Art History, Prince William later switched to Geography.
This theory is not an unheard of concept and has been mentioned in numerous books that explore the lives of Kate Middleton and the various members of the British royal family.
A recent example is Endgame, the controversial book by Omid Scobie.
According to the author, Carole envisioned Kate as a person with a realistic perspective and the ability to enhance the prestige of the family through her family name.
Other experts on the royal family, such as Tina Brown and Katie Nicholl, have also highlighted the role of Kate’s mother in a cunning plan to conquer the future King of England.
