Recently, Mary of Denmark, 52, and Mette-Marit of Norway, 50, were seen looking glamorous at a gala dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo.
However, just hours later, they appeared again with a completely different and casual look.
The royal couples showed their good relationship during their visit to Østmarka, a popular forest area east of Norway’s capital, which attracts many tourists.
After that, Frederik, Mary, Haakon, and Mette-Marit rode the metro like regular people.
Passengers were surprised to find themselves sharing a train with royals.
Casual Outfits of Mary and Mette-Marit in Norway
For this sightseeing morning, Mary and Mette-Marit chose casual outfits, which is not usual for them.
Mary wore straight-cut dark grey jeans, a simple navy blue sweater, and a matching puffer vest with her sunglasses.
Knowing the day would be long and they would visit a park, she wore dark sneakers.
Though Mary wore her hair down, she had a semi-transparent hair tie on her wrist, showing she plans everything carefully.
Mette-Marit wore navy blue pants, a green puffer jacket, and white sneakers. Despite her long-term illness, Prince Haakon’s wife was very active.
Close Friendship
Throughout the walk, Mary and Mette-Marit shared many friendly moments, showing their relationship goes beyond their official duties.
On the train, the couples separated, giving us memorable images of the two royal families together.
Perfect Hosts
With King Harald’s poor health, Haakon and Mette-Marit have taken on more responsibilities and have been perfect hosts for their guests.
The trip aimed to introduce Frederik and Mary as the new King and Queen of Denmark to their Norwegian neighbors.
These meetings also let them show their more relaxed and friendly sides.
Busy Schedule Ahead
Their short but busy visit to Oslo will end tonight with a reception on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog, thanking their hosts.
Here, we might see another fashion showdown between Mary and Mette-Marit.
After two weeks away, which included their 20th wedding anniversary, Frederik and Mary will return to Copenhagen to see their children and resume their duties.
However, their international travels are not over. In June, from the 11th to the 14th, they will visit the Faroe Islands and from June 29 to July 8, they will go to Greenland.
This will conclude their first international tour as Denmark’s new King and Queen.
