A Spanish artist named Rodolfo Navarro has become known for his unique and expressive portraits, but he has gone viral for creating a new clay bust, this time inspired by Princess Leonor.

The work, still in progress, was devised in conjunction with the Monarchical Brotherhood of Spain (HNME) to give visibility to the Spanish Royal Family.

Navarro says that the initiative arose in March 2023, after the success of the exhibition “The King in the Eyes of Spanish Painters,” held in June 2022 in Madrid.

The bust of King Felipe VI was presented to the Royal Family in person during the celebration of the 2023 Princess of Asturias Awards.

It was then that HNME and the author found a way to collaborate on a new art project about royalty: a clay sculpture of Princess Leonor.

Since he started the Princess Leonor project, the artist has shared the creative process on his social networks, where he has thousands of followers in different countries.

Navarro says that through social networks he promotes the dissemination of artistic principles for mentoring and enriching other professionals in the field.

Unlike the bust of Felipe VI, focused on transmitting solidity and institutionalism, in the work of Leonor, the artist seeks to evoke youth and the promising future of the heir to the throne.

The finished bust will be on display at an exhibition of royal portraits to be held from April 9 to 26 at the Cervelló Palace in Valencia.

The artist is already planning versions of Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia to complete the collection.
