This Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Meghan Markle launched her long-awaited Netflix show, *With Love, Meghan.*
The engaging eight-episode series features Prince Harry’s wife sharing insights into cooking, decorating, gardening, and other personal activities.
As expected, the premiere has sparked significant analysis and criticism. Several media outlets, including *The Express*, have consulted body language experts to interpret the Duchess’s behavior as she attempts to connect with new audiences through this platform.
Criticism of With Love, Meghan
Body language expert Judi James, consulted by the British newspaper, noted that the program aims to emphasize “the adorability and undiluted sweetness of the Duchess of Sussex.”
James argued that “Meghan implies a childlike view of the world,” as her style incorporates a series of made-up rhymes, giving her a whimsical touch and an evident desire to connect and organize everything around her.
“She dances about, squeals, and acts excited about everything,” the expert continued.
However, not all of James’s analysis was positive. She suggested that “Meghan’s show should be renamed ‘LOVE ME – MEGHAN,’ as the overriding visual narrative seems focused on showcasing the adorability and undiluted sweetness of the Duchess of Sussex.”
James also offered a deeper critique, describing the show as “a dystopian nightmare for feminists—a glimpse of how women might have appeared had we never gained the vote, consigned to a Jane Austen world of sprigged cotton and flower arranging, where survival meant marrying rich and entertaining the locals.”
According to James, “Thanks to Meghan, we now know what the wives do while the men are off competing on horseback.”
She further claimed that Meghan’s presence resurrects the term “bubbly,” which was once considered a high compliment for women in the workplace before Thatcher:
“She dances about, squeals, and acts excited about everything. Even cutting a raspberry in two for her children’s breakfast platter is portrayed in a ‘fun’ light.”
Despite the criticism, With Love, Meghan not only aims to entertain but has also sparked a robust debate about contemporary images and expectations of women.
The show seeks to offer a more intimate and personal look at the Duchess, inviting viewers into a world that, while criticized by some, may resonate with a broader audience seeking inspiration in everyday family life.
