The book “Endgame”, written by Omid Scobie, has caused quite a stir due to the revelations it makes about the British royal family.
The author, who closely followed the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, narrates the conflicts and tensions that led Meghan and Harry to distance themselves from the Crown.
However, the book’s release in the Netherlands had to be suspended on the same day of publication due to a serious error on one of its pages.
Who are the royal racists?
According to reports, the controversial “error” occurs on page 128, where it mentions the controversial episode in which a member of the royal family expressed concern about the skin color that Archie, Meghan and Harry’s son, would have.
In the original version of the book, and in editions from other countries, the author does not reveal the name of the person who made that racist comment.
However, in the Dutch edition, it is pointed out that it was King Charles, Archie’s grandfather, who asked that offensive question.
This accusation is very serious, as it was one of the reasons why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to give an interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they denounced the racism and lack of support they experienced within the royal family.
The Dutch publisher has acknowledged the error and has withdrawn the book from bookstores. They explained that the translator possibly worked with an uncorrected version of the text, and they are working to rectify it as soon as possible.
