Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again felt the sting of mockery after being ridiculed in an episode of the animated series Family Guy.
According to sources close to the couple, they were stunned by the brutal taunts poured at their expense.
Family Guy: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
On October 22, Family Guy took aim at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their lucrative deal with Netflix.
In the episode, cartoon versions of Harry and Meghan are depicted lounging by a pool when a butler brings Harry a paycheck for “millions from Netflix for…no-one knows what.”
Meghan then gets a notification that it’s time for their “$250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco.”
The controversial dig quickly went viral, leaving the Sussexes dismayed. As reported by the web site Closer, sources described the Family Guy attack as “savage” and an “outrageous slur.”
“They’re in full panic mode.”
One insider revealed that Meghan felt “humiliated” and is “desperate for a solution.” The couple is said to be in “full panic mode” over the mockery.
Apparently, what has affected them the most is that the idea is being spread that they are “self-entitled grifters or spoiled brats.”
The segment played into accusations that the couple is profiting off their royal ties without taking on royal duties.
The Sussexes’ appearance is a satire, hinting that Harry and Meghan’s lucrative media deals lack substance.
The Family Guy sequence follows other cartoon attacks on the couple, such as the South Park episode.
Despite trying to rise above the taunts, this latest prank seems to have left Harry and Meghan reeling.
The brutal parody has only added to the controversy that the Sussexes are easy prey for mockery.
The couple face an uphill battle to be taken seriously amid the savage mockery they receive.
