Last Friday, April 11, the Duchess of Edinburgh was the center of attention when she attended the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Representing King Charles III, who had just returned from his state visit to Italy with Queen Camilla, the Duchess took on a key institutional role in this traditional British military event.
On her arrival at Camberley, where the academy is located, the Duchess inspected the troops of the CC242 course before the start of the parade.
This ceremony, which marks the graduation of the cadets, is held three times a year, and it is customary for at least one member of the royal family to attend one of the annual editions.
Duchess of Edinburgh’s Style at the Sovereign’s Parade
Beyond her role as a representative of the Crown, the Duchess stood out for her style.
Sophie opted for a dress-like coat by designer Emilia Wickstead in an indigo shade with a structured silhouette.
She completed the ensemble with classic pastel blue suede Prada pumps and a matching Sophie Habsburg Ginny clutch in blue.
The ensemble was elevated by a wide-brimmed hat with pastel-toned feathers, designed by Jane Taylor, one of the British royals’ regular names.
In terms of jewelry, the duchess wore hoop earrings with three rows of diamonds, made in platinum by G. Collins & Sons, weighing 5.20 carats.
Without stridency or unnecessary risks, the Duchess knew how to adapt her style to the context of the event.
