The Infanta Sofia has reached her 18th birthday and has done so true to her essence.
Casa Real shared five portraits to celebrate this vital milestone of the second in the line of succession, and once again, the youngest of the Bourbons shows us that she goes her own way.
Infanta Sofia’s style in birthday pictures
No pompous dresses or dazzling tiaras. For her photo debut, Sofia opted for comfort and minimalism: a simple light blue chiffon shirt with a V-neckline and basic navy blue pants.
An outfit she could wear to any official engagement… or to have a coffee with friends.
In the images captured in the gardens of the Zarzuela Palace, the Infanta shows a natural smile that fits perfectly with her choice of wardrobe.
And if anything characterizes this young royal is her practicality. It seems that Sofia is very clear that she does not need extravagance to shine.
And have you noticed that peculiar detail on her sleeves? She wears them rolled up, exactly the same way her mother usually wears them.
According to body language experts, that little detail symbolizes willingness to work and commitment to what you do. Like father, like son.
The difference with other European princesses who have also recently blown out 18 candles is obvious, Sofia has opted for naturalness.
Apparently, the tiaras will have to wait for the youngest of the King and Queen of Spain. In fact, not even Princess Leonor, first in the line of succession, has yet to make her debut in a ball gown and tiara. And it doesn’t seem to keep Sofia awake at night.
The young girl has not even pierced her ears yet, something her older sister did when she was just 8 years old.
The portraits of the Infanta Sofia let us see a serene young woman, who has developed her own style marked by discretion and practicality.
