Kate Middleton literally shone at the state banquet, this time in honor of Donald Trump and Melania Trump, which took place on September 17 at Windsor Castle.
The occasion demanded the highest level of etiquette, and the Princess of Wales did not disappoint. She chose a haute couture design by Phillipa Lepley, featuring a hand-embroidered Chantilly lace coat in gold over a silk crepe dress.
A look that not only adhered to protocol but also reminded us why Kate is an undisputed benchmark for royal style today.
The star of the evening was the Lover’s Knot tiara, one of the most iconic pieces in the royal collection and a favorite of Princess Diana.
With its 19 diamond arches and 39 pearls, this accessory speaks for itself. Seeing it on Kate is always a nod steeped in history, a bridge between past and present that connects two very different yet equally influential generations of women.
The contrast was in Queen Camilla, who, true to her understated style, chose a Belgian sapphire tiara and a dress with shoulder pads and beaded details.
Melania Trump, on the other hand, broke with the usual palette of gala dinners and appeared in yellow with a pastel pink belt.
Her choice did not go unnoticed, although it was Kate who, once again, embodied the perfect balance.
It’s worth noting that this was only the second state banquet Kate has attended since returning to the official agenda after her illness.
In July, she made a reappearance at a dinner in Windsor to honor French President Emmanuel Macron. Now, with this golden look and her favorite tiara, she confirms that every appearance at such an event is a significant occasion.
