The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is known for keeping a low profile in her life in California.
The occasions when her personal life becomes news are few, but when they do, they usually generate a great media stir.
This past weekend, Meghan was spotted visiting “Godmothers,” a new bookstore located near Montecito.
During the opening of the establishment, Prince Harry’s wife stood out as one of the speakers, sharing the stage with her friend, the famous host Oprah Winfrey.
In her speech, Meghan thanked the bookstore’s founders “for not just creating the space, but for holding the space for so many people to feel seen through the pages, either in laughter, in grief, in feeling less alone,” according to Town & Country.
Prior to this event, on September 6, Meghan and Prince Harry attended a private event for friends and family at the bookstore.
However, People magazine exclusively revealed images of a new, unexpected outing for the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan Markle at the Bookstore
According to the publication, on September 2, Meghan was spotted leaving “Godmothers” before its official opening.
During this visit, the former “Suits” actress wore a casual outfit, composed of a wide straw hat, a blue sweater, her gold “Juste un Clou” necklace by Cartier, and Ray-Ban aviator glasses.
Meghan seemed to enjoy her visit to the new bookstore. People reported that upon leaving the venue, Meghan carried a keychain designed by Anya Hindmarch.
The keychain, valued at $310, features a playful design that mimics a matchbox.
In this new space for books, the bookstore’s “Our Local Authors” exhibit features the Duke of Sussex’s bestselling memoir, *Spare*, and Meghan’s 2021 children’s book, The Bench.
