Eight days after undergoing surgery for a broken left arm following a horse riding accident, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands reappeared in public.
On this occasion, the heir to the throne attended a military ceremony alongside her father, King Willem-Alexander.
Princess Amalia’s style at a military ceremony
The heir to the throne participated in the presentation of the banner of the Princess Catharina-Amalia Hussars Regiment in Amersfoort, wearing a red dress with a floral print, a natural raffia headdress lent to her by her mother, Queen Maxima, and a striking blue sling.
Despite the discomfort of her recent surgery, the Princess of Orange remained elegant in a midi dress by Natan, with a crossover V-neckline, puffed sleeves, and an asymmetrical hem.
The outfit, which she had already worn at the wedding of the Duchess of Medinaceli in 2023, was complemented by high-heeled shoes by Gianvito Rossi in a matching red tone.
This public appearance has symbolic significance, as it is Amalia’s first official military event in a royal family that, unlike other European houses, does not require military training for its members.
