The Michelin Guide ceremony for France and Monaco took place this Monday evening, and Charlene appeared alongside Prince Albert in an outfit that was essentially a tribute in the form of an ensemble. She wore Giorgio Armani from head to toe, and there was a logic behind her choice that went beyond mere aesthetics.
Armani designed her wedding dress, and since the designer’s passing, Charlene has used several public appearances to pay tribute to him through her wardrobe.
What Charlene of Monaco wore to the Michelin ceremony
The complete ensemble, made up of four pieces, costs over $14,000. The jacket and pants are made from Tussah silk, a thicker and more porous variety than regular silk, with a metallic finish and the flowing, androgynous lines characteristic of the brand’s New Normal collection.
The jacket costs $4,000, and the pants cost $2,100. But the piece that steals the show is the mesh and Lurex top with wavy stripes, each embellished with embroidered rhinestones, available for $7,500. To complete the look, she chose a metallic clutch with rounded lines, reminiscent of the first bags Armani designed in the 1990s.

With such a dazzling outfit, Charlene opted for a simple makeup look. Instead of her usual red lipstick, she opted for neutral tones on her lips and cheeks, paired with subtle eyeliner, mascara, and brown eyeshadow to add depth to her eyes, and a nude shade on her waterline.

Her hair was pulled back into a low bun with a side part, neat and unadorned, with the aim of showing off her earrings. And the earrings were worth it. The earrings are the Aleluiá model by Pasquale Bruni, crafted in 18-karat gold with white and champagne diamonds, and valued at over $22,000—more than the total cost of the Armani ensemble.
